By M.Turner

MET has published two medical device usability case studies. The first is for a glucose monitor and the second for an emergency epinephrine auto-injector.

Human factors studies form an important part of the development of various devices. They can be used to refine designs and ensure that the product will be used safely when it is needed. This is of particular importance for items used in emergency situations. We have published a specific news item on the FDA’s Guidance for Emergency Use Injectors.

The case studies can be requested from our contact page. These studies aim to identify problems with; labeling, instructions, programming, handling, incorrect application, packaging and other ease of use items. Studies are conducted on a wide variety of combination devices, devices that require manipulation, also electronic and software systems

Call our team to discuss your project. Information on the various classes of study (heuristic, formative, summative evaluations) can be found here.
