Meet MET at Extractables and Leachables, Europe

Staff from Medical Engineering Technologies Ltd. will be exhibiting at the extractables and leachables conference Europe (7-8 November 2018, London). To discuss your projects, for an informal chat or just to meet the team, come along to our booth, you will be most welcome.

MET offers a logical, easily understood approach to E and L studies. Our flow chart will be on display and you will be able to see for yourself how we have eliminated the complications.

Of course, not all drug delivery devices and medical devices are the same. To further simplify the selection of testing techniques required (especially with respect to the recent increased emphasis on the application of ISO 10993-18), MET has published a systematic approach to test selection. Following the philosophy of ISO 10993-1, this approach suggests varying levels of chemical analysis according to the invasiveness and duration of body contact (effected by the device). Extraction solvents and conditions are selected to appropriately simulate ‘in use’ leaching and worst case extraction. Similarly, the analysis techniques are adapted provide relevant information whilst avoiding an overload of unnecessary details.
